We don't always think about it when it's not our job, but the choice of colours and materials can have a major impact on the overall look of a space. And when it comes to designing a small space, there are a few things you need to know to avoid making any mistakes. In a small space, too many colours and textures will tend to give an overloaded effect. To avoid this, we advise you to opt for white or even transparent colours, which will visually lighten your space, punctuated by touches of bright colour at strategic points to catch the eye.

I love this magical atmosphere of creation, being in my studio, thinking about a concept, a mural, a canvas, starting from nothing and giving birth, it's addictive. I think art is the guarantor of good mental health. Painting is a necessity, a balance. Each canvas is a meditative journey.

But to date it has never had so much impact or strength. We see this trend on a daily basis, often exercised by major brands such as Apple and their simplistic designs, Ikea and their Scandinavian furniture where use is the primary reason for the furniture's existence, and Monoprix, which presents its products in packaging stripped of useless but powerful information.

Most of my inspiration comes from the curves you can see in nature around: a leaf, a cloud, a seaweed, waves etc. I can also be inspired by the body movements, dances, and facial curves. And of course wood: its veins, its color and natural shape. I sometimes try to understand what happened in the tree’s life: a storm, a heatwave. It is a great source of inspiration. Some wood varieties are amazing with very graphic veins like the plane tree.

There's a reason why plants are so popular in the world of design: they're known for their beneficial effects on reducing air and noise pollution, as well as for their positive effect on well-being, as they've been the subject of numerous scientific studies. These have shown that plants aid concentration, reduce stress and anxiety, and purify the air. They are therefore considered to be of great benefit to both our mental and physical health. So many good reasons to find a place for them in your home!
